Tom and Jerry disembark off a cruise ship in Naples, Italy, and the chaos ensues. However, after the two mix it up in their usual style, a tough local mouse wonders what the racket is. He then defends Jerry, but then helps Tom escape from a tough dog. You don’t have to speak Italian to understand what the dog says after his butt gets kicked. Once the cute gray rodent recognizes the famous cat and mouse, he gives them a grand tour of Napoli, and even beautifully serenades them.
This is indeed an excellent, charming cartoon short, for it perfectly reflects the generosity and kindness of the native Italians. Even the three antagonistic dogs give Tom and Jerry a fond arrivederci at the end. Seeing this would surely make you want to visit. It’s a toon so charming it almost makes you shed a tear just like the gray mouse after singing.
